Dr. Manley was thrilled to join Georgetown as our newest associate (Dec 2025). A native of the South (NC), she graduated from Auburn University of College of Veterinary Medicine.
She considers being awarded the American Association of Feline Medicine Senior Award her greatest accomplishment of veterinary school. Her feline passion has continued through her professional career by serving as the Chairperson of the AAFP Guidelines Committee (6 yrs), a member of the AAFP Board (6 years) and serving as the President of this internationally recognized feline focused organization. She has also worked closely with the iCatCare International Society of Feline Medicine and Surgery (based in the UK) during that time on several projects.
She credits her drive to continue to practice after 3 decades to learning more about both feline and canine behavior, a discipline that has grown in importance in recent years. She qualified as a Fear Free Professional in 2016 and earned her ISFM Certificate in Feline Behavior (Highest Honors) in 2022. One of the reasons she joined Georgetown was because of the Staff’s gentle and considerate approach to managing all patients calm and especially anxious with kindness, compassion and understanding.
Dr. Manley has had a very varied career spanning small animal private practice, shelter medicine as Medical Director and Staff Veterinarian (6 yrs), Feline exclusive practice as both lead veterinarian and practice manager, Professional Services Veterinarian for two global leading veterinary pharmaceutical companies and as a Certifier of Fear Free Practices. She credits these opportunities with providing her an education well beyond her veterinary school education. Dr. Manley is grateful she never had a “5/10/+ yr goal”, as that allowed her to take advantage of these opportunities as they arose. She would change nothing regarding her career as it has been one beyond her wildest dreams.
While Dr. Manley has a passion for feline medicine and behavior, she admits some of her best patients are canines (and their owners).
