GVH has been family owned and operated since 1959, making us the most established veterinary hospital serving the Charlottesville area. We serve our community whenever possible. We have an extremely low rate of staff turnover this translates into happy, experienced staff to care for you and your pets!

Although we provide emergency and critical care, preventive medicine is our primary focus at Georgetown Veterinary Hospital. Regular animal wellness exams are essential to provide a long and happy life for your pet(s). We strongly recommend a wellness physical exam once every six months to ensure the well-being of your pet(s).
ABOUT US
We are a full-service veterinary hospital that has been serving Charlottesville and the surrounding area since 1959. We are conveniently located just west of UVA and Downtown Charlottesville near the Barracks Road area. Our hospital is a fully equipped medical, diagnostic, surgical and critical care facility.
We at Georgetown Veterinary Hospital are committed to your pets’ health and longevity as well as to you, their caretaker. We maintain a well-stocked pharmacy for your convenience and we carry a number of veterinary prescription diet pet foods.
Georgetown Veterinary Hospital also offers boarding services for dogs and cats with separate and spacious accommodations for each. Bathing, toenail trims, anal gland expression and other routine grooming services, such as de-matting and partial and full body clips can be scheduled as well.
Drs. Daniel and Virginia Flynn established the Georgetown Veterinary Hospital shortly after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine back in 1959. It has remained a family owned and operated practice since then… for over 60 years!
